In response to Governor McKee’s comments on “Ask the Governor,” we want to clarify that the Rhode Island Dental Association has consistently provided data and testimony highlighting the oral healthcare workforce crisis.
Dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants are in critically short supply, and Rhode Island has experienced the highest net loss of dentists in the nation over the past 1–5 years, according to the ADA Health Policy Institute.
Six years ago Dr. Gazerro gave a full presentation with data to then Lt. Gov. McKee explaining the difference between RI and MA and CT… what we need now is action.
